What to know first

  • All three carry 5-year validity; renew online via your TTP account before expiry.
  • Global Entry includes TSA PreCheck at no extra cost; NEXUS includes both — NEXUS is the cheapest path to all three.
  • Applicants under 18 pay no fee if a parent/guardian is a member/applying.
  • TSA PreCheck has three providers (IDEMIA, Telos, CLEAR) that set their own prices.

How to do it

  1. 1Global Entry/NEXUS: create a TTP account → apply → pay → after conditional approval, schedule an interview (or use Enrollment on Arrival) → bring passport + 1 ID.
  2. 2TSA PreCheck (new): apply online with a provider → ~10-min enrollment visit (fingerprints + ID); or get it automatically via Global Entry/NEXUS.
  3. 3Renew online through your TTP account (or provider for PreCheck) before expiry.

  • Valid passport (Global Entry/NEXUS); one additional govt ID for the interview; 5-year address/employment history; details of any convictions/customs violations; fee
